Participation in the Panel discussion on Reinventing the Future: Youth Perspectives
Africa is expected to surpass Asia in becoming the world’s fastest-growing region. However, climate change poses a substantial risk to the continent, capable of undermining development and erasing progress unless we find a suitable and robust response. The focus of this panel was to delve into the pivotal question of how we can effectively strategize for the well-being of people, places, and the planet while pursuing our developmental ambitions. We highlighted the unique perspectives of youth, who are expected to inherit the socio-ecological outcomes that stem from the decisions we enact today. We also explored opportunities for change that will shape sustainable socio-economic and socio-ecological trajectories.
